Biochemistry
About Course
This Biochemistry Internship is a rigorous, interdisciplinary program designed to bridge the gap between chemical principles and biological systems, providing students with the analytical mastery required for advanced research and diagnostic careers. Participants will gain hands-on proficiency in the quantification and characterization of biomolecules, mastering techniques such as protein estimation (via Lowry or Bradford assays), amino acid titration, and the separation of compounds through paper and thin-layer chromatography. The curriculum emphasizes the study of metabolic pathways and molecular interactions, offering practical training in enzyme kinetics, gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), and spectroscopic analysis to determine molecular structures and concentrations. By integrating training in buffer preparation, pH standardization, and the use of sophisticated instrumentation like HPLC and UV-Vis spectrophotometers, the program ensures that interns develop the precision and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards essential for roles in clinical biochemistry, pharmaceutical formulation, and biotechnological innovation.
