About Course

This Herbal Drug Formulation Internship is a specialized, multidisciplinary program designed to train students in the scientific transformation of medicinal plants into standardized pharmaceutical products. Participants will develop expertise in the entire development lifecycle, starting from the botanical authentication of raw materials and advanced extraction techniques—such as Soxhlet and microwave-assisted extraction—to the formulation of conventional and novel dosage forms like syrups, tablets, and phytosomes. The curriculum places heavy emphasis on phytochemical screening and analytical standardization using high-precision instruments like HPLC, HPTLC, and FTIR to ensure the quantification of bioactive marker compounds. By integrating rigorous quality control protocols aligned with WHO and ICH guidelines, alongside training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and intellectual property rights (IPR), the program prepares interns for professional roles in herbal product R&D, nutraceuticals, and the traditional medicine industry (AYUSH).
